It’s a welcome final round of two under par 68 for Padraig as he signs off for another year at the ISPS Handa Senior Open. As an ambassador for ISPS Handa, it was an important week but he will be glad to get some rest, after eight events, this week in Europe. He started the day with an early dropped shot on the 4th hole but was picture perfect after that with three birdies to finish just outside the top forty. Portugal is his last destination before a well earned rest!
It’s another poor day for Padraig as a 74 sees him drop back into the pack on a Gleneagles course that is playing tough. Eight under par leads going into Sunday’s final round. Padraig has only made seven birdies in all three rounds so far and will be hoping for a morale boosting final round on Sunday. He tees off at 10am with Robert Coles.
Padraig struggles to a second round of two over par 72 and fatigue must be playing a big part as he nears a eight week sojourn on the road. He got off to a miserable start with three dropped shots and from there could only make two birdies all day. He finished with nine straight pars and bar a very low round Saturday will struggle to contend this weekend.
It’s a level par start for Padraig in his defence of his Senior Open crown. It was steady stuff for most of the day as he recorded three bogies and three birdies but will need something in the 60’s to get back in contention as seven under par leads after the opening round. He was out in one under par after an opening dropped shot but a poor run around the turn saw him drop two shots. A closing birdie on the par five 18th gave him something to smile about! He tees off late Friday at at 13.58pm.
It’s another very special week for Padraig as the current US and Open Senior Champion attempts to defend his second Major of the year at this weeks ISPS Handa Senior Open Championship. It is being played at the beautiful Gleneagles course and Padraig has course experience as back in 2022 as he was runner up that week to Darren Clarke. Padraig won the title last year at Sunningdale and he will be aiming to repeat the feat after defending his US Senior Open crown a couple of weeks ago! All to play for as he tees off with one of his main challengers this week, Stewart Cink!
