It’s another masterclass from Padraig as he picks apart the En-Joie Golf course to shoot a solid round of five under par 67 which gives him a one stroke lead going into Sundays final round. He made just one blemish on the day, at the tough par four 11th hole, but was a model of consistency after that, with six birdies recorded, and a sterling chance of winning the event for a 4th time! He tees off Sunday, in the box seat, in the final pairing!
Padraig opens his account at the Dick’s Open with a splendid round of seven under par 65, which leaves him in tied 2nd place and only two behind the leader heading into the weekends play. He opened with a dropped shot and had another bogey on the par four 11th hole but it was plain sailing besides those two holes as he rattled off nine birdies on the day. Five 3’s in his last six holes was the perfect sign off for hopefully more of the same over the weekend! He tees off Saturday in the last group at 6.40pm.
Padraig plays this week on the PGA Champions Tour at one of his favourite and most lucrative events, the Dick’s Open, held at Endicott in New York. The three times winner didn’t play in 2025 and your defending champion this week is Steve Alker. The event also marks a sponsors invitation for Michael Block who has just turned 50 and will be interesting to see how the club Professional fares against a very strong field this week.
