Disappointing finish for Padraig as he shoots a 76 in the final round of the Insperity Invitational. Five birdies on the day tell you all you need to know about the round as some of the golf was car crash stuff with two double bogies and a “snowman” on the par five 13th hole where he incurred two separate penalty shots on route to an eight. He finished in a tie for 27th place with Boo Weekly winning the event on a 15 under par total. Next up is the second Major of the year, the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club.
Padraig roars back into contention with a six under par round of 66 which leaves him in tied 5th place and just four behind the leader. An error free round was just what the doctor ordered and six birdies, three on both sides, made it a picture perfect card. He tees it up Sunday in the second last group at 1.04pm local time.
Padraig opens his account at the Insperity Invitational with a two under par round of 70. He got off to a birdie start but a penalty shot off the tee on the second, saw him drop two shots. He was foot perfect after that with three more birdies recorded but will be hoping for something better in the second round.
Padraig plays this week on the Senior PGA Tour at the Insperity Invitational. It is being played at the Woodlands Country Club which is a par 72 of just over 7,000 yards. Stewart Cink is your defending champion.
