Padraig ends his Senior PGA Championship with a one under par round of 71 which left him in a tie for 8th place at seven under par. Stewart Cink won the event by six shots with a 19 under par total! It was another day of what might have been for Padraig as he raced to three under par for the day after a slow start. But his finish, yet again this week, let him down as he stumbled to two double bogies coming home before a couple of birdies late on put some gloss on the day. He made twenty birdies for the week but just too many mistakes cost him a chance of contending. Onwards and upwards!
Padraig treads water with a two under par round of 70 at the Concession Club which has him in a tie for 14th place going into Sundays final round. His six under par total currently trails the leader by five shots. He was out in one under par and added two more birdies to stand on the 18th tee at seven under par but a bogey on the last added to another poor finish this week! He will need a low round Sunday to contend around this difficult layout!
Padraig shoots a level par round of 72 but an unfortunate finish left him struggling to keep pace with the leaders. He was out in level par after swapping one birdie with a bogey. He dropped another shot at the par five 13th hole before a lovely run of three birdies had him on the heels of the leaders. Sadly, a double bogey on the last was an expensive way to finish. His four under par total after two rounds leaves him just outside the top ten going into the weekend.
Padraig opens his account at the Senior PGA Championship with a pleasing round of four under par 68, which is currently two behind the leaders. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a quick start with two birdies in his first three holes. He faltered slightly at the long par five, 13th hole, but hit back strongly with three more birdies in his next five holes. This had him out in four under par, and he added to that total with another birdie at the par five, 7th hole, before an unfortunate dropped shot at his final hole. All to play for on Friday, and well placed to challenge for an event he would dearly love to win to add to his regular PGA Championship win back in 2008.
Padraig is at the Senior PGA Championship this week, an event he has been runner up in twice, back in 2023 and 2025. It is being played at the Concession Golf Club, which plays to a par of 72 and nearly 7,000 yards. The field is top class this week with all the leading players on the Champions Tour playing so it promises to be a testing examination over 72 holes.
