Padraig ends his championship with a two under par rouynd of 69. Yet again, it was a bit of a grind with 14 pars recorded on the day, three birdies were offset by just the one dropped shot at the par four 10th hole where he found a bunker off the tee. He finished just outside the top twenty and Cink went on to win with a 19 under par total!
A disappointing second round for Padraig as he struggles to make inroads and records just three birdies on a day of low scoring by the leaders, including a 62 by Stewart Cink. Two dropped shots had him out in level par and the back nine was a grind of eight straight pars before picking up a shot at the last hole. Top ten Sunday is still a realistic prospect.
Padraig opens his account at the Hoag Classic with a five under par round of 66. He had only one blemish on the card, at the par four 16th hole, where he found rough off the tee. Four birdies and an eagle made up the rest of the card and it leaves him well placed going into Saturdays second round.
Padraig continues his run on the PGA Champions Tour this week at the Hoag Classic. It is being played at Newport Beach Country Club and is an event that Padraig won in 2024!
