Padraig completes his tournament with a disappointing round of three over par 75 to finish in a tie for 46th place with a one over par total. Justin Leonard won the event with a twelve under par total. Padraig started on the back nine again and dropped two early shots to be on the back foot but did pick up a shot at the par five 16th to be out in 37 shots. The front nine was a mundane affair with eight pars and a double bogey on the par three 4th hole. The next event in the season ending Charles Schwab Cup race is the Simmons Bank Championship this week and culminates at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship on November 13th at Phoenix Country Club.
Padraig improves to a two under par round of 70 at the Dominican Energy Charity Classic. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a slow start with a couple of early dropped shots but then swapped two birdies with a bogey to be out in one over par 37. He found his range on the front nine with three birdies and is currently in tied 36th place going into Sundays final round. Eleven under par leads the tournament.
Padraig shoots a level par round of 72 after a frustrating day on the greens. 36 putts is never good in a professional tournament and so it was, as he trails the leaders by six shots going into Saturdays second round. An early birdie three on the par four 2nd hole was wiped out by a dropped shot on the par five 6th hole, where he incurred a penalty shot off the tee. Another shot went at the par four 13th hole, where he missed the fairway, before picking up one final birdie, at the par five 16th hole. Hopefully a better day on the greens on Saturday!
Padraig starts the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs at this weeks Dominion Energy Charity Classic. He currently lies in 5th place with three events to go. Following this week, they play the Simmons Bank Championship and finish on November 16th with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The top 36 players after two events will contest the grand final.
Tee Times -> Final round Sunday at 4.10pm with David Duval and Ken Duke.
