Another poor day for Padraig at the Amgen Irish Open as he struggled to a three over par round of 75 and a missed cut. He drove the ball poorly and in the wet and windy conditions, this makes compiling a score around the K Club very difficult. He did birdie both par fives on the back nine, but a double bogey six on the par four 7th hole, where he found the rough off the tee, made it a day to forget! Onwards and upwards!
Disappointing opening round for Padraig at the K Club as he shoots a two over par round of 74. His only birdie of the day came at the par five 18th hole where he got up and down from close to the green but overall it was a day of few chances with a lot of medium range putts and a cold putter. He will need to shoot something below 70 today to make the cut which is hovering around the level par mark.
Padraig plays this week on the DP World Tour at his home event, the AMGEN Irish Open. It is one of his favourite events of the year and as a past winner he always enjoys coming back to play in front of the home fans. It is being played this year at the K Club in Co. Kildare which of course is a former Ryder Cup course.
