Final round of two over par 72 sees Padraig finish in a tie for 71st place at the Genesis Scottish Open. He got off to a lovely start with two early birdies but dropped them by the turn to be out in level par. Again, he birdied the par five 10th hole for the fourth day in succession, before a dreadful run of four dropped shots in four holes put paid to any chance of a low round. To his credit he did birdie the next, the par three 16th hole, to finish three over in total for the tournament. Next up is the Open Championship at Royal Portrush!
Third round of two over par 72 for Padraig at the Genesis Scottish Open. He got off to a poor start with a dropped shot at the first but got it back again at the short 5th hole. But a disppointing finish to the front nine put paid to any chance of a low round. Three dropped shots in a row to close out the nine made it a difficult day. To his credit, he picked up a shot at the par five 10th hole, which he has birdied every day, but then the putter went cold and he finished with eight straight pars. He tees off Sunday at 12.50pm with home favourite, Robert McIntyre and Ryan Fox.
Padraig manages to survive the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open with a second round of level par 70. He dropped a shot at the first when he found the rough offf the tee but bounced back nicely with two consecutive birdies on the 4th and 5th holes. He picked up another shot at the par five 10th hole where he hit his pitch close but two dropped shots coming in had him sweating before confirmation of a weekend tee time. Eleven under par leads going into the weekends play. Padraig tees off at 9am local time.
Padraig opens his account at the Genesis Scottish Open with a one under par round of 69. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a flying start as he raced to three under par after five holes. He added another birdie at the short par three 17th hole where he was close with his tee shot before dropping a shot at the tough par four 18th to be out in 32 shots. He dipped under par again at the par four 5th hole where he hit his approach shot stone dead. But a poor finish saw him drop three shots in his last four holes to ruin an otherwise great day. He is just inside the top 50 and will be hoping for an error free round on Friday when he tees it up at 1.10pm local time.
