Padraig opens his account at the ISPS Handa Senior Open with a three under par round of 67 around the famed Sunningdale course. It was a day of plenty of birdies but a few mistakes kept him from the top of the leaderboard. Seven under par leads and Padraig is currently in tied third place. He had seven birdies in all, but two dropped shots on both nines stopped him from going low on the day. He tees off at 13.58 on Friday and if he can eradicate the mistakes, he can challenge for the title come Sunday!
Padraig plays this week at the ISPS HANDA Senior Open which is being held at Sunningdale golf course in Berkshire, England. He had a near miss back in 2023 when he finished second at Gleneagles, and was beaten in a play off in 2024 at Royal Porthcawl. The championship was last played at Sunningdale in 2021.
