A final round of one over par 73 sees Padraig finish in a tie for 36th place at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Out in level par, his day was ruined by a double bogey seven on the par five 10th hole. A penalty shot off the tee did the damage and he only recorded two birdies on the day. Onwards and upwards!
A solid second round for Padraig of four under par 68, the highlight of the round being an eagle three on the par five 18th hole. Starting on the back nine, he was a model of consistency, all the way to the final hole, where he dropped his only shot of the day at the par four 9th. A poor drive cost him there on a day where he made eight threes in all!
Padraig opens his account in Georgia with a disappointing round of one over par 73. Two sixes did the damage, the first one on the par five, 4th hole, where he found sand off the tee and the second one on the par four, 9th hole, where he had a penalty off the tee and then found more sand. Two birdies were the only saving grace and he will need a good round Saturday to make ground on the leaders!
Padraig plays this week on the PGA Champions Tour at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. It is being played for the 12th time at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgis. Stephen Ames is your defending champion and has won the event three times including the last two years! There are seven hall of fame players in the field including Padraig.
