Padraig finishes with a one under par round of 70 but had his chances as he got within one of the lead late in the day on a packed leaderboard. At one stage there were four players tied for the lead and another four within a shot. Padraig got off to a steady start and was level after seven holes but birdied his last two holes to be out in 34 shots. He dropped a shot at the par four 10th hole but a magnificent eagle at the par five 11th hole had him right in contention. A couple of late dropped shots put paid to his chances of a win and he eventually finished in a tie for 6th place. A playoff was needed to decide the title which was won by Steven Alker.
A suberb second round of five under par 66 sees Padraig right in the mix for Sundays final round at the Cologuard Classic. He recorded seven birdies on the day with his only blemishes on two of the pars three holes, the 7th and 13th where he three putted both times. He will be out in the third last group on Sunday with K.J. Choi and Ernie Els. With at least ten players in contention, it promises to be an exciting final round.
Padraig opens his account at the Cologuard Classic with a solid round of three under par 68. Seven under par leads going into the weekend. He got off to a nice start with a couple of early birdies to be out in 34 shots. The highlight of the day came at the par five, 11th hole, where he made an eagle three. His only dropped shot of the day came at the next hole, the par three 12th where he missed the green with his tee shot. Six pars to finish leave him within striking distance and all to play for on the weekend!
