Final round of three under par sees Padraig finish in a tie for 6th place at the Trophy Hassan. His former Ryder Cup partner, Miguel Angel Jimenez won the event. Padraig was out in one under par after a lone birdie at the par five 8th hole and again took advantage of his length at the par five 12th hole. Two more birdies followed before his only blemish of the day at his finishing hole. He played well but will be looking forward to the break after four weeks on the road!
A disappointing day for Padraig as it looks like four tournaments in a row were just a little too much to start the season. It again was a very mixed round with an eagle three on the par five 8h hole followed by a double bogey five on the par three 9th hole! He added two birdies but also had three dropped shots to sign for one over par round of 73. He will tee off early in the final round Saturday (9.18am) and will hope for a more consistent round to finish!
Padraig opens his account at the Trophy Hassan with a one under par round of 71. Four under par leads after day one. It was a topsy turvy day for Padraig as he made a boat load of birdies and bogies. He got off to the ideal start with a birdie at the opening hole but continued to drop three shots to offset his three birdies on the front nine. Another shot went at the par five 12th hole, but he fought back well with two closing birdies on the par four 16th and 17th holes to sign for his 71. All to play for on Friday with a tee time at 9.59am local time!
Padraig plays this week on the PGA Champions Tour at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Marocco for the Trophy Hassan II. It’s his first start back on this tour after a three week run on the DP World Tour. He is in good form so hopefully a productive week lies ahead!
Tee Times -> Opening round Thursday at 10.57am local time with Miguel Angel Jimenez and Steven Alker
