Final round of three under par for Padraig sees him finish around the top 50 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He got off to a nice start with two early birdies and was out in 34 shots. His only mistake came at the par four 12th hole, where he found rough off the tee and failed to get up and down from the back of the green. But he finished with a flourish with two birdies in his last three holes. Two good rounds and two poor rounds for the week but plenty to work on for the season going forward. He recorded sixteen birdies for the week. He tees it up next at the Bahrain Championship which runs from the 30th January to the 2nd February.
Third round of one over par 73 sees Padraig fall back to level par for the tournament and in a tie for 68th place. Sixteen under leads going into Sundays final round. The day started badly with a missed green at the first from 90 yards but he did fight back well with three birdies in four holes from the 5th hole. He finished the nine with a dropped shot to be out in one under par. He dipped under par again at the par five 14th hole which he reached in two but a horror finish of three dropped shots made it a day to forget. He tees off Sunday in the final round at 7.44am and will be hoping to go low with the early morning conditions!
Padraig struggled to a three over par round of 75 in the tough afternoon conditions on day two of the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He hit some terrific shots on the day, none more so than his approach to the 9th hole where he left it stone dead. But the windy conditions took their toll coming home and he dropped five shots in all including a double bogey six on the par four 10th hole. His one under par total was still good enough to make the weekend cut!
Padraig opens his account at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship with a pleasing round of four under par 68. He played very nicely albeit in the easier morning conditions and recorded five birdies in total, three on the back and two on the front nine. His only blemish for the day came at the par four 5th hole.
Padraig continues his 2025 campaign on the DP World Tour at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship which is being played at Al Hamra golf club in the UAE.
