Padraig shoots a second round of three over par 74 to miss the cut at the Amgen Irish Open. Starting on the back nine, he was out in level par, swapping a birdie with a bogey and picked up another shot at the par five 1st hole. But four bogies in his last six holes put paid to any chance of making the weekend at Royal County Down. He was greatly enthused by the support of the home crowd and was naturally disappointed but didn’t hole anyhing of note on a very tough layout. Six under par leads going into the weekend!

Padraig opens his account at Royal County Down with a two over par round of 73. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a nice start and was one under after three holes. Dropped shots on the par four, 14th hole and par four, 17th hole had him out in one over par. He bounced back with an eagle three on the par five, 1st hole, when he hit the green in two and holed from just inside ten feet. But three further dropped shots coming in had him signing for a 73. All in all, it was a day of some great up and downs and some silly mistakes. He is just inside the cut line and will need to eradicate the mistakes on Friday. He tees off at 1pm.

Padraig returns to home soil to compete in this weeks Amgen Irish Open. It is one of his favourite weeks of the year and as a past winner, he has fond memories of the phenomenal Irish support. The venue this week is one of Irelands finest courses, Royal County Down.

Tee Times: 1st round, Thursday at 8am, 2nd round, Friday at 1pm with Nicolai Hojgaard and Thomas Detry
