Padraig finishes in a tie for 7th at the Rogers Charity Classic with an eleven under par total. After his opening three holes he was in a tie for the lead! He got off to the dream start with three opening birdies and a fairway splitting drive on the par five, 4th hole. He found thick rough after going for the green in two and made a bogey six which halted all his progress. Another dropped shot at the par three, 9th hole, where he missed the green into a heavy lie, had him out in one under par. The back nine was a series of missed chances and a couple of more dropped shots had him signing for a 70. Ken Tanigawa won the event with a seventeen under par total!
Padraig continued his stellar play in Canada with a fine round of six under par 64. He currently lies in tied 4th spot, just two shots behind the leader going into Sundays final round. He was rock solid throughout, making four birdies going out and adding two more before his only dropped shot of the day. The par four 17th cost him his only bogey when he found a greenside bunker but a monster drive up the par five 18th gave him a chance for a closing birdie. He missed the green to the right but a deft chip and solid putt has him in with a great chance of another win this evening. He tees off at 7.09pm GMT!
Padraig opens his account in Canada with a very solid looking round of five under par 65. He made no bogies on the day, birdied all three par fives and generally looked in control. He was out in two under par after a couple of early birdies and then cruised home with three more birdies on the back nine. He currently lies just two behind the leader going into Saturdays second round. He tees off at 6.48pm GMT with Miguel Angel Jimenez and Richard Green.
