Padraig sealed a fantastic win on the PGA Seniors Tour with a complete rout of the field to win the second playoff event, The TimberTech Championship, by a whopping seven shots. In his post second round interview, he intimated that in a perfect world both himself and Langer would play well enough to get away from the field in the final round. Half of his wish came through as he went on a birdie blitz, straight out of the blocks, and was six under par after seven holes. Langer did get within two shots of the lead when he birdied the 9th to Padraig’s bogey but his hopes were short lived as Padraig played very steady golf on the back nine to further increase his lead hole by hole. He finally signed for a 64 having recorded nine birdies in all! This win moves him up into third place in the Charles Schwab Cup standings with the final event still to come on November 9th, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, of which Padraig is the defending champion!

Padraig soars to the top of the leaderboard at the Timbertech Championship but if he is to take down this title he will have to fend off his old adversary, Bernhard Langer! He was the epitome of solid as he picked his way around the course without making a mistake and made five birdies in all to shoot a 66 and finish one clear at nine under par with a round to go. He tees off Sunday in the final round at 3.16pm local time with Bernhard Langer and David Toms.

Padraig opens his account at the TimberTech Championship with a solid round of four under par 67 to tie for the lead with three others going into Saturdays second round. It could have been even better as he took a double bogey five on the par three 3rd hole where he found trouble off his tee shot to incur a penalty and then found a bunker! He sandwiched four birdies into his first six holes and was solid coming home with two more birdies and no dropped shots. All to play for tomorrow!

Padraig plays this week on the PGA Seniors Tour at the TimberTech Championship, the second of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs. It is being played at Boca Raton, Florida in the States on a course that plays to nearly 7,000 yards and to a par 71.

Tee times: Padraig tees off at 3.24pm local time with Jerry Kelly and Alex Cejka.
