Padraig shoots a final round of one over par 73 to sign off the tournament at level par and in a tie for 45th place. The highlight of the day was a magnificent eagle three on the par five 17th hole, where he followed a booming drive with an long iron to a couple of feet! He had only one other birdie on the day at the par three 11th hole. He now heads for the season ending playoffs, with the next event being the Domincan Energy Charity Classic. Padraig currently lies in 9th place in the Charles Schwab Cup season long standings!
Play was suspended due to heavy rain in the second round, Padraig completed his round on Sunday and signed for a one over par score of 73. He had three bogeys and two birdies over the course of the two days.
Padraig opens his account with a two under par round of 70 at the SAS Championship. He got off to a very steady start with ten straight pars before dropping a shot at the par three 11th hole. He hit back with back to back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes where he holed a couple of nice putts. A dropped shot followed on the 16th but he managed to eagle the par five 17th after taking advantage of his length off the tee, to hit the green in two shots. Five under par leads after the opening round.
Padraig plays this week on the PGA Seniors Tour at the SAS Championship. It is being played in Cary, North Carolina in the USA.
