Final round of two over par 74 sees Padraig finish down the field at this years Horizon Irish Open. He got off to a poor start with a dropped shot at the first and was out in two over par. The only bright spot was a short putt for birdie on the par five 4th hole. The back nine was more of the same, nothing much happening, with one dropped shot and one birdie to see him back in level par. Onwards and upwards!

Padraig fires a third round, level par, 72 but mistakes yet again cost him dearly, including a double bogey on the difficult par four 17th hole, where he found water off the tee. He had plenty of birdies, four in all but four dropped shots in the final stages of his round made it a day to forget!

Padraig produces a second round of three under par 69 to secure himself a spot in the weekend play. His two under par halfway total currently is inside the cutline and looks good to stay there. He had five birdies in all with just two dropped shots, and true to form he birdied all four par fives which is his forte.

Padraig opens his account in Ireland with a disappointing one over par round of 73 .He dropped three shots in all but two were on the par 3’s which is poor as he is a very good iron player. He also failed to take advantage of the par 5’s as his driving accuracy on the day was poor. With an early tee time on Friday, he will need to regain his current good form to gat back in the tournament. Seven under par leads after the opening round.

Padraig is back home this week to play in the Horizon Irish Open at the K Club in County Kildare. A host of Major champions play this week including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Danny Willet and Adam Scott. Your defending champion is Adrian Meronk from Poland who was the first player to win a DP World event from that country!

Tee Times – 1st Round 12.50pm & 2nd Round 7.50am (local time) with Tom Hoge and Tom McKibbin.
