Final round of one under par 71 sees Padraig finish in a tie for 62nd place with a total of five under par. He had a poor front nine which he played in two over par but rallied well on the back nine with three birdies in four holes from the 12th. Todd Clements won the event with a 22 under par total!
Padraig shoots a third round of one over par 73 but a poor finish put paid to an otherwise reasonable day. He was out in one under par but added two more birdies on the par five 12th hole and par three 13th hole to get to three under par for the day. But a poor tee shot on the par three 16th hole saw him run up a six and he followed that with another dropped shot at the par four 17th hole. He tees off Sunday at 9.02am local time with Mateusz Gradecki.
Padraig follows up his opening round with a four under par round of 68 which leaves him at five under par, the leaders are at thirteen under par going into the weekend. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a nice start with three birdies in his opening six holes to be out in 33 shots. He picked up another shot at the par five 1st hole where he had a tap in for birdie. A string of pars followed but he did birdie the 9th hole to be three under for the par fives on the day! He tees off in the third round at 9.40am local time with Gavin Green!
Padraig opens his account in the Czech Republic with a one under par round of 71. It was a day that could have gone better, he played quite well but made too many mistakes, a double bogey seven on the par five 12th hole was a killer blow! He has an early tee time Friday and if he can get off to a hot start will make up the ground required to get back in contention. Nine under par was leading after the opening round.
Padraig plays this week at the D+D Czech Masters on the DP World Tour as he chases a place on this years Ryder Cup team. With six captains picks this year, he will be keen to impress Ryder Cup Captain, Luke Donald, as will his fellow countryman, Shane Lowry. The event is being played at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague in the Czech Republic. It is a par 72 that plays to 7,468 yards.
