Final day at the US Open proves to be stern test for all concerned and Padraig struggled to a three over par round of 73 which left him in a tie for 27th place. He made six bogeys on the day but did pick up three shots towards the end of the front nine on a day when the course ran fast and firm and the greens were stimping at 12/13. All in all it was a good weeks work with some stellar play in rounds two and three which will stand to him as he defends his Senior US Open title this week. Wyndham Clark hung on bravely to win the event at ten under par!

What a performance by Padraig as he shoots the second lowest score of the day to leap frog the field by 39 places, into the top 15 going into Sundays final round at the U.S Open in LA. He got off to a very steady start as the course firmed up considerably, with seven straight pars but an eagle three on the par five 8th, where he holed a bomb, got him up and running as meyham ensued around him. He picked up two more shots coming home before his only bogey on the par four 16th but his 67 was bettered by only one other competitor on the day. He tees off at 10.08pm tonight with Patrick Cantlay with a top ten finish well within his sights !

Padraig produced a battling second round to make the cut on the number at a firmer, faster, U.S Open layout that left some big names heading home for the weekend. He was out in three under par on the slightly friendlier front nine with birdies on the 6th, 8th and 9th. He stuck to the task well and gritted out seven pars and two bogeys to look forward to what will be a tough test over the weekend. He tees off with Cameron Young at 7.28pm GMT.

Padraig opens his account at the US Open with a three over par round of 73. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a steady start with four opening pars and picked up a shot on the par five 14th hole. He finished the nine poorly when he was short on the 18th hole in some deep rough in which he could only advance the ball a few feet into a bunker. A double bogey six was his reward for missing the fairway. He dropped three more shots on the front side but did make another birdie on the par five 8th hole to sign for a 73. He will need a solid round Friday to advance to the weekend. An incredible eight under par leads, not once, but twice as the US Open course record for any championship was shattered.

Padraig plays this week at the US Open! It is being played at the Los Angeles Country Club in California and the course promises to be the winner this week. It features everything from a par three that measures 80 yards to one that can stretch to nearly 300 yards! With no other PGA Tour events being played here (except amateur events) it promises to be a fascinating test for the players. Padraigs best finish in a US Open is 4th place and he will be hoping to take some of his Senior tour form to Los Angeles!

Tee Times – Padraig plays in the opening rounds at 3.59pm and 10.29am with Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley!
