A final round of one under par 70 for Padraig as he traded plenty of birdies with some poor holes. His eight under par total finished nine behind but the back nine caused him many problems during the week. He, yet again, got off to a great start as he picked up shots at his opening two holes but threaded water for the next five holes before a birdie four on the par five 8th hole where he got up and down from a greenside bunker. Unfortunately, his next two tee shots cost him double bogies so his initial good work was undone for the second day running. He did pick up three more birdies coming home but it was yet again a case of what might have been! It has been a productive three weeks with many encouraging signs of a good season ahead!

It was a “game of two halves” for Padraig as he raced to the turn in five under par as he holed a number of nice putts with a couple of tap ins to climb the leaderboard. He added another birdie at the par four 10th hole where he holed a nice 20 footer to get to six under par for the day and hot on the heels of the leaders. But it all went astray with a number of errant tee shots that cost him dearly coming home. He missed both par threes and made bogeys and also found water at the last to drop another shot and four in all coming home. He stands at seven under par for the tournament just outside the top twenty but it was a case of one that got away!

Padraig adds a second round of two under par 70 to finish at five under par and into the weekend at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He made four birdies in all but it was a strange day on the par fives for him as he played them in two over par as they would normally be a strength for him. He is presently just inside the top twenty and within striking distance of the leaders!

Padraig opens his account at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship with a pleasing round of three under par 69. Playing on a very tight course, he plotted his way around the course to record four birdies and just one dropped shot at the par three 15th hole where he overshot the green. Three of his birdies came on par fives where he was able to bring his length into play. He currently lies inside the top twenty and will be hoping to progress Friday with an early tee time! Eight under par leads after the opening round.

Padraig continues his run on the European Tour with a visit to the UAE for the Ras Al Khaimah Championship! It is being played at the Al Hamra Golf Club which hosted the event in 2022 in which Padraig played and finished inside the top thirty. Your defending champion this week is Nicolai Hojgaard.

Tee Times –  Padraig plays with Julien Brun and Ockie Strydom at 12.20pm Thursday and 7.50am Friday.
