Final round of 66 sees Padraig come up just one shot shy of a play off at the Shaw Charity Classic. He got off to a nice start, carding birdies on the 4th, 6th and 9th holes to be out in three under par. Two more followed to start the back nine but two consecutive dropped shots put a halt to his momentum. He did birdie the par four 15th hole but failed to make a birdie at the par five last hole to join the play off. He finished in a tie for third and will add some more points to the Charles Schwab points list!
Padraig shots a disappointing second round of two over par 72 which leaves him at four under par and only three behind going into Sundays final round. On a day where he never got going with four dropped shots in his first eight holes meant he was battling from the get go. He did pick up one shot at the pat five 4th hole to be out in three over par. Another shot went at the 10th before two consecutive birdies hauled him back into it. He finished with bogey/birdie to come back in one under par. A big Sunday needed but he is more than capable!
Padraig opens his account at the Shaw Charity Classic with an impressive round of six under par 64 to lead by one going into the weekend. His prestigious length off the tee, yet again, paid handsome dividends as he continues to carve up the courses on offer on the Seniors Tour. He got off to a nice start with three birdies in his first six holes to be out in 32 shots before adding another at the par five 11th hole. Six pars followed before a grandstand finish where he hit an iron for his approach shot to the last par five hole and made the putt for eagle. He tees off on Saturday at 11.26am with Kirk Triplett and Paul Goydos.
Padraig plays this week at the Shaw Charity Classic on the PGA Seniors Tour. Currently in second spot in the Charles Schwab standings, he will be hoping to continue his rich vein of form on the Seniors Tour around the par 70 course at Canyon Meadows which measures just over 7000 yards.
Tee Times – Padraig tees off at 11.19am (local time) in the opening round Friday with Doug Barron and Miguel Angel Jimenez.
