Padraig closes his 4th Senior appearance with a very pleasing round of seven under par 65 which finishes in tied second place. He got off to the hot start he needed with three birdies in his opening four holes. His only blemish came at the par four 8th hole and he turned in 34 shots. He again started the back nine with another three birdies in the first four holes but added two more coming home to sign for a 65. All in all, a very pleasing performance heading into next weeks first Major of the year, The US Masters at Augusta!

Disappointing second of level par sees Padraig needing a low round Sunday to challenge for the title. He made two birdies going out but also dropped two shots to turn in level par. A birdie three on the 10th hole was followed by seven pars and a dropped shot on the par three 16th hole which leaves him with a lot of work to do in the final round.

Padraig opens his account on his 4th start on the Seniors Tour with a five under par round of 67 to tie the lead going into the weekend. He got off to the perfect start with an eagle three on his second hole and was out in three under par. Turning for home he used his advantage off the tee to birdie both par 5’s to play the long holes in four under par for the day. On a course that suits his long hitting style, he will be hoping for more of the same before next weeks visit to Augusta!

Padraig plays this week on the PGA Champions Tour. The Rapiscan Systems Classic is being played at the Grand Bear Golf Club from Friday 1st April to Sunday the 3rd April. Kevin Sutherland last won the event back in 2019. Padraig will be hoping for a strong showing as he competes, yet again, in The Masters next week.
