A pleasing finish to a tough week for Padraig as he shoots a three under par round of 69 around the Old Course at St. Andrews. His only dropped shot on the day came at the par four 13th hole and he picked up four birdies along the way. He failed to make it into the final round Sunday. In the team event, the two brothers managed to shoot ten under for the three rounds which also left them not qualifying for Sundays final round.
Another round of three over par 74 sees Padraig slip down the field heading into Saturdays third round at St Andrews. On another tough day where the players were battling the elements, he again recorded just two birdies, both on par fives, and again had five dropped shots. The exertions of the Ryder Cup could be playing a role plus the tough conditions. It’s the home of golf tomorrow so hopefully a good day will be had by all! In the team event it’s a similar situation where they lie in tied 119 place at a six under par total.
Padraig shoots a disappointing opening round of three over par around Carnoustie. On a cold and blustery day, it played to its full potential as Padraig struggled recording just two birdies for the day. He had five dropped shots on his card and will be hoping for better fortune Friday as he plays Kingsbarns! In the team event he is playing with his brother, Columb, and they recorded a two under par score!
Padraig is back on the European Tour for one of his favourite events of the year, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Tee Times – Thursday at 9am Carnoustie, Friday at 10.39am Kingsbarns and Saturday 11.12am St.Andrews with Shane Lowry.
