second round of plus 4 points wasn’t enough for Padraig to progress to the weekend at the Barracuda Championship. He made five birdies in all, but started both nines with a double bogey which made life difficult to say the least. He remains in the States and recently paid a visit to Whistling Straits to check out the course for the upcoming Ryder Cup match at the end of next month!

Padraig opens his account at the Barracuda Championship with a round of plus three stableford points. Two early birdies which equated to four points were eroded by three bogies in four holes which left him on one point but he did manage to sandwich in another birdie on the par five second hole before finishing with six straight pars. He lies in tied 71st place after the opening round while an incredible plus 16 points leading, a 63 on a normal scoring format!

Padraig returns to the PGA Tour with an appearance at this weeks Barracuda Championship. It’s a modified stableford event which encourages aggresive play. An albatross scores 8 points, an eagle 5 points, a birdie 2 points and a par zero points. You lose a point for a dropped shot and 3 points for a double bogie or worse! The course is set up for attacking play and the risk/reward element seems to be very popular with the fans. Richy Werenski is the defending champion and scored a whopping 39 points to win by one last year.
