REVIEW

second round of one under par 71 fails to rescue Padraig from his poor opening round. He beat his first round putts average of 32 by a whopping nine shots and also went from a miserable two putts per GIR to a more resaonable 1.6 putts per GIR. He was out in level par and had some hope when adding birdies at the par four 12th and 13th holes. But a dropped shot on the 16th closed the door on a very low looking cut at three under par.

Disappointing day for Padraig at his home event as he struggled to a four over par round of 76. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a miserable start with three dropped shots in his first four holes. He dropped another one at the par four 16th hole before picking up a shot at the par five 17th hole. He closed out the nine with a par to be out in 39 shots. On the way home he mixed three bogies with two birdies on a day where not much went right for him.

Padraig plays this week at home at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. It is one of his favourite events of the year and as a past champion, one that he would love to win again. A steller field has been assembled this week with Rory McIlroy playing along side a host of Major champions. The beautiful Mount Juliet estate hosts the event this week and will provide an enjoyable challenge playing to a par of 72 and 7.250 yards. Weather conditions are set to be very pleasent so expect low scoring.
