PREVIEW
Padraig has a second round of one-under-par but looks like it will miss the cut by one shot. He started on the back nine and got off to a nice start with two birdies in his first five holes but disaster struck with a double bogie, bogie finish to the nine to be out in one over par. Two more bogies followed on the first and second so he was effectively out of the tournament but two eagles in his next three holes left him needing one more birdie to make the cut. He failed to secure it but his never say die attitude was in full force and he can consider himself unlucky!
Padraig opens his account at the BMW International Open with a level par round of 72. It was a disappointing finish to a round that promised so much. He got off to a slow start being level par after eight holes made a birdie four on the par five 9th hole which had him out in 35 shots. He followed this with two birdies in three holes to get to three under but came home in an ambulance to drop three shots to sign for a 72. He tees off early Friday and will be hoping for a better score. He currently lies in 82nd place.
Padraig plays this week at the BMW International Open. It is being played in Germany at the Golfclub Munchen Eichenried which is a par 72 that plays to nearly 7300 yards. A whos who of European Golf is playing with future Ryder Cup star, Victor Hovland, also making an appearance from the States. Low scoring is the order of the day so we can expect fireworks as players chase those elusive Ryder Cup points.
Tee Times – Thursday at 1 pm and Friday at 8am with Bernd Wiesberger and Louis Oosthuizen.
