Final round of one over par 73 sees Padraig finish in a tie for 56th place. On a tough day where the wind blew, he recorded nine pars, five bogies and four birdies on a day of testing conditions. He was out in level par after mixing a couple of bogies with two birdies. He three putted the short par three 11th hole but got it back straight away at the par five 12th hole. Two more bogies followed before he signed off with a nice birdie at the last. Joel Dahmen who played with Padraig in the first two rounds, won the event, a first win for the journeyman pro after an incredible 111 starts on Tour!
Third round of two over par 74 for Padraig at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. On another windy day, he again struggled recording three dropped shots and two birdies going out. He steadied the ship coming home with four pars but dropped two more shots and picked up a birdie on the short par three 17th hole. Ten under par leads going into the final round.
Padraig shoots a second round of three over par 75 in tough conditions which made the cut but leaves him some way off the pace. He was out in level par recording one birdie and a bogie but struggled coming home with four dropped shots. He picked up just one more birdie on the par five 12th hole where he got up and down from a greenside bunker.
Padraig opens his account in the Dominican Republic with a very pleasing round of three under par 69. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a slow start and was out in one over par recording two bogies and a birdie on the par five 14th hole. But he stormed home after the turn to come home in 32 shots with four birdies and no blemishes. He tees off late Friday at 12.40pm.
Padraig plays this week at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. It was cancelled last March and was rescheduled for September with Hudson Swafford prevailing with an 18 under par winning score. It now returns to its normal slot opposite the WGC matchplay event. The course is in the Dominican Republic and can play trickey if the wind blows as many holes are along the seashore. The par 72 can play to a whopping 7,670 yards if needs be and it played to a scoring average of 71.1 last year.
