Final round of 76 sees Padrig finish in a tie for 31st place but the story of his round was a triple on the tough par four final hole which dropped him out of the top twenty. On a tough day with the wind blowing and the greens firming up, he was out in two over par but played very solidly on the back nine to be one under playing the last. He had seven pars and a lone birdie on the par five 16th hole before the unfortunate finish to a good week.
Third round of three under par 69 sees Padraig creep into the top 30 heading into Sundays final round. After starting with a dropped shot on the tough par four first hole, he picked up three shots in the next four holes before another dropped shot on the par four 8th hole had him out in one under par. He picked up three more birdies on the back nine with one dropped shot on the par four 15th hole. All to play for Sunday!
A second round of two over par 74 sees Padraig in a tie for 38th position going into the weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He mixed a couple of bogies with two birdies on the front nine to turn in level par. He was still level par for the day but bogeyed the last two holes around a very tough golf course. Nine under par leads.
Padraig opens his account at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a fine round of two under par 70. Starting on the back nine, he dropped an early shot on the par four 11th hole where he found a greenside bunker and failed to get up and down. But he hit back strongly with three birdies in the next five holes to turn in two under par. He mixed two birdies with two bogies coming home and lies in tied 15th place going into Fridays second round. Six under par leads.
Padraig plays this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where a star studded field competes around the Bay Hill layout. Tyrrell Hatton is the defending champion.
Padraig tees off Thursday at 1.08pm and Fridat at 8.28am with Paul Goydos and Matthew NeSmith.
