Final round of one under par 71 sees Padraig finish in a tie for 40th at Wentworth. He got off to a nice start with a birdie two on the short par three second hole, but dropped two shots to be out in one over par. He played nicely on the back nine and birdied two of the par fives to sign for a 71 and a two under par total. Tyrrell Hatton won the event with a magnificent nineteen under par score.
Padraig shoots a level par round on Saturday at the BMW PGA Championship. A couple of bogies were cancelled out by a couple of birdies over the first twelve holes but a double bogie on the par four 13th hole left him struggling. He again rescued the day with a magnificent eagle three on the last hole, his third eagle of the week. He tees off Sunday in the final round at 8.50am.
Padraig adds a second round of one under par to comfortably make the cut but it could have been so much better. An early eagle on the par five 4th hole gave him the perfect start and he added another birdie at the par four 7th hole to be out in three under par. A bogie was cancelled out by a birdie on the par five 12th but two late dropped shots spoiled an otherwise good round. He tees off early Saturday at 8.20am with Stephen Gallagher.
Padraig opens his account at Wentworth with a level par round of 72. Starting on the back nine, he got off to the perfect start with an eagle three on the short par five, 12th hole but threaded water after that. He reeled off eleven pars in a row before a disappointing finish saw him drop two shots in his last four holes. He tees off late Friday at 12.05pm and will be hoping to hole some more putts. Six under par leads after the opening round.
Padraig tees it up this week at the flagship event on the European Tour, the BMW PGA Championship being held, as usual, at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club. He will be hoping to build on a top ten last week in Scotland as this event again carries huge prize money and prestige. Padraig had a good final round last year of 68 and it is a course he has grown to like with recent changes to the greens. Danny Willett is your defending champion this week. Padraig tees off early at 7.45am in the opening round with Andy Sullivan and Branden Grace.
Tee times!
Thursday 7.45am & Friday 12.05pm with Branden Grace & Andy Sullivan.
