Life is a lot easier when you play badly and then all of a sudden you get in contention and win one. No one gets on your back. When you finish runner-up seven times, everyone is asking, 'Why aren't you winning?' It's much more fun when you jump into a win out of the blue. It's a much tougher game when you play consistently well.

U.S. Open Qualifying - Walton Heath - England
Padraig failed to qualify for the US Open at Merrion in June by one shot after a three putt at the last hole turned an always promising day into abject disappointment! He played some stellar golf throughout the 36 hole qualifier and was always inside the 13 spots available for qualification. Bitter disappointments like this make the wins even sweeter! He is back on the road later this week as he travels back to the USPGA tour for next weeks event.

Padraig is in action today at Walton Heath for the US Open Championship qualifier. He tees off at 7.56am local time in an all Irish two ball with Paul Dunne. Thirty six holes will be played today at a number of venues to decide available spots in this years championship which is being held on the famed Merrion course starting the 13th June.
