Life is a lot easier when you play badly and then all of a sudden you get in contention and win one. No one gets on your back. When you finish runner-up seven times, everyone is asking, 'Why aren't you winning?' It's much more fun when you jump into a win out of the blue. It's a much tougher game when you play consistently well.

Padraig takes an eight week break from competition at this time of the year but contrary to popular belief he now enters a very busy time in terms of preparation for the 2009 season. This break signals the start of his winter training phase where he will work under the watchful eye of Dr. Liam Hennessy. He has two winter training camps, one next week in California where his whole team will meet to plan next years assault on the Major Championships and one in South Africa over Christmas where he will fine tune his physical progress at altitude. And, as he would say himself, he wouldn't have it any other way!

Padraig would like to take this chance to wish all his fans a very peaceful and Happy Christmas and a great golfng New Year! He would like to thank all those who supported him throughout last year and indeed every year and will be striving even harder in '09 to deliver some more silverware. He deeply appreciates the support of all fans on both sides of the pond and also thanks the players on the USPGA Tour for their recent vote of appreciation of his golfing year. May good forune follow you all in 2009.
Padraig, Caroline, Paddy and Ciaran.
