Life is a lot easier when you play badly and then all of a sudden you get in contention and win one. No one gets on your back. When you finish runner-up seven times, everyone is asking, 'Why aren't you winning?' It's much more fun when you jump into a win out of the blue. It's a much tougher game when you play consistently well.

The Race to Dubai

Entry Date:
Nov 4, 2008

The 6th of November is the start of The Race to Dubai and Padraig Harrington, who finished second on The 2008 European Tour Order of Merit, has added his voice to the chorus of approval.

The Irishman, a winner of the Order of Merit in 2006, added his thoughts to those of his European Tour colleagues:

Harrington said: The Race to Dubai will add some sparkle. There has been an issue with it [the Order of Merit] the last couple of years. It is an achievement for any guy to win it but The Race to Dubai will give it more hype, make it more exciting. Many of the professionals, including myself, are playing with our schedules to give ourselves the best chance to get out there and win it. I definitely see myself playing more in Europe next year. I would like to give myself a good chance of winning it, especially in its first year.
