Life is a lot easier when you play badly and then all of a sudden you get in contention and win one. No one gets on your back. When you finish runner-up seven times, everyone is asking, 'Why aren't you winning?' It's much more fun when you jump into a win out of the blue. It's a much tougher game when you play consistently well.

Padraig goes home to Ireland...

Padraig is in Ireland this week for one of his favourite events, the Smurfit European Open. It is being played at the 2006 Ryder Cup venue, the K Club in Co. Kildare. Speaking to Padraig this week, he felt confident with his game after spending a couple of days with his coach, Bob Torrance, in Scotland. "It's great to be back in Ireland and on a course that demands excellent golf to win. I'm feeling good and just need a few putts to drop to hopefully be in contention. It would be great to give all my fans something to shout about on home soil so I'll be giving it my best shot!"
